Governance of the Institute is vested in its Board and Executive Committees which are elected or appointed under the Institute's Articles of Association.

The advisory councils, consisting of the Academic Council, the Institute Presidents' Council and the Corporate Members Advisory Council, report to the Board. The Institute also has a Journal Advisory Committee that informs the development of the Journal.
