The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (the Institute), has developed the Insurance Claims Service Provider course to help service providers work with both the insurance company and the customer. Who is it for? The Insurance Claims Service Provider program is a short online training program built specifically for service providers. The course is designed to help you to service and manage customers of insurance companies. If you are a builder, glazier, carpet or roof restorer, gas fitter, electrician, plumber, case manager, estimator, structural engineer, renovator, plasterer or any one of the many people who provide a service to insurance customers, this course is for you. What is involved? The course can be accessed from any computer with internet access. The minimum requirements are Internet Explorer 5.5 or above (or equivalent) with Adobe Flash Player. The course covers four (4) topics: 1. the insurance market and industry regulation 2. insurance contracts and policy—what they mean to your role 3. looking the part—your professional approach 4. understanding claims processes. The course takes approximately 2–3 hours to complete. You can log in and out at any time, allowing you to finish the course in your own time. When you have finished the course, you will receive a certificate of completion. This will demonstrate to insurance companies your commitment to high service standards.
